SUMMARY:Lynchburg Community Spay/Neuter Clinic
DESCRIPTION:Spay and Neuter Program\nWe provide low-cost spay/neuter service for Nelson County resident’s dogs and cats. This service is offered in collaboration with Lynchburg Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter Clinic. Surgeries are NOT conducted at the shelter. Please visit our Spay/Neuter Program to learn more and submit out Spay Neuter Registration Form. \nGuidelines for a Seamless Experience\nTo ensure a smooth and efficient experience for both you and your pet\, please follow the guidelines below carefully. Our commitment is to provide the highest quality care while making the process as straightforward as possible. \nDrop-off Location\nNelson SPCA\,\n29 Stagebridge Rd.\nLovingston\, VA 22949 \nPre-Surgery Instructions\n\nDo not feed your pet anything after dinner the night before surgery. Providing water is acceptable.\nDogs: All dogs must wear a collar and be on a leash. Crates will be provided for transportation.\nCats: Each cat must be in a individual carrier. Please line the carrier with a towel and label it with the owner’s name\, phone number\, pet’s name\, and pet’s description.\nFeral Cats: Each cat must be in its own transfer cage. To learn more about our Trap Neuter and Return program\, visit out TNR page\n\nRegistration\, Payment\, and Required Information\n\nDogs and Cats: Complete the Spay/Neuter Registration form BEFORE scheduling.\nFeral Cats: Complete TNR Request Form BEFORE scheduling.\nPayment: Payment MUST be made prior to drop-off. You can pay online here.\nProof of Rabies Vaccination: A current rabies vaccination is required for dogs and cats. You can either email proof (at least a day in advance) to spayneuter@nelsonspca.org or bring a copy of the paperwork with you.\nSurgical Consent: After you’re scheduled\, you’ll receive an email from our Spay Neuter Coordinator with a surgical consent form for each pet. These must be signed and submitted electronically BEFORE drop-off.\n\nCheck-In and Drop-Off Protocols\n\nDogs: Stay in your vehicle until the coordinator is ready for you.\nCats: Bring your cat (in its carrier) to the picnic table area for check-in.\nFeral Cats: Bring each feral cat (in its transfer cage) to the picnic table area for check-in.\n\nCheck-in and Drop-off Time\n\nSpay/Neuter (Dogs & Cats): Check-in is 7 AM and pick-up is the following day at 12 PM.\nFeral Cats: Check-in is 7 AM and pick-up is the following morning at 7 AM.\n\nCancellations and Other Protocols\n\nIf you need to cancel\, please do so at least two days in advance.\nBe punctual – This will help us to facilitate the smooth operation of our services.\nSurgeries are conducted off-site at low-cost clinics\, not at the shelter.\n\nPost Surgery\nIf you have any issues please call the number on the discharge papers. \nBy following these guidelines\, you help us maintain the quality and efficiency of our spay/neuter services.
